With production designer Tino Schaedler, NAU was asked to design the sets for the pitch of a new television commercial for 1&1. This newcomer in the media services world is a provider of web hosting, consumer electronics and mobile telephone services. As such their new advertising campaign “The 1&1 Principle” sets out to detail the speed, customer services quality and broad range of their offerings.
Emphasizing 1&1’s large, efficient operation, the set revolves around a expansive atrium where machinery and scaffolding, as well as the firm’s thousands of employees, are constant motion to fulfill their customers’ needs. Cast in 1&1’s corporate blue, a grid of rooms represents their web shop where each “room” portrays one of their services. Forays into different sectors allow the company to emphasize that hundreds of products are just 1 click away, deliveries will be at consumer’s doorstep in just 1 day and that trial usage of products can be for up to 1 month.
